weekend words

Hello hello,

It's hard to tell where 2009 is headed, but I'd like to think it's looking up. The blog is coming along in stride, I think, as we continue putting up items that our audience appreciates. It's a good time to look for bargains, as so many stores are having clearance sales on winter clothes. It's only January! We still have some winter to go.

So many things ahead. S is taking a little trip to the proverbial city of Sin, Las Vegas, with a bunch of lawyers, so at least I'm comforted knowing that she'll be having tons of legal fun. I think we both have stars in our eyes for Vegas, and the reality is it's because we both have stars in our eyes for Clooney in Ocean's 11. Yup, the cat's out of the bag. Big, big fans.

I'm in the process of packing for my first road trip, which I'm leaving for this weekend. Given the circumstances it will either be an amazing two weeks or a complete mistake. I'm crossing my fingers that it will be a little in between and leaning towards the former. Any tips for surviving terribly cold weather? Layers layers layers, is what they tell me.

Finally, we've discovered a great new hotel search site, Hotels Combined, and thought we'd give it a try, given how much traveling we are going to be doing in the next few weeks. It's free, has a simple interface, and is a great site to find hotels in your price range. If that isn't enough, they'll donate $5 to a charity of your choice if you add them as a fan on Facebook. Simple enough, eh?
